Land Use + Environment Services Building

Urban Design Partners provided planning, civil engineering, and landscape architecture Services for the new home of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg County Land Use & Environmental Services Agency located in the Bryant Park district of west Charlotte. The first building and catalyst project of a larger urban redevelopment included a 102,000 SF multi-story building. The project also features extensive plaza spaces and outdoor gathering areas around the building. The site was classified as a Brownfield site requiring additional coordination, permitting, and attention throughout the design process. The design had to address areas with contaminated soils and create a safe and environmentally sound final product. UDP played a critical role in guiding this project through to successful completion, on time and on budget despite these additional site challenges.
