Goodyear House

Goodyear House

  • Client: Andrew + Adam Klenk
  • Location: Charlotte, NC
  • Size: 0.23 Acres
  • Completion: 2020

This historic mill home was transformed into the casual dining destination that many enjoy. Goodyear House is located along the main strip of the NoDa neighborhood and stays true to its original structure to pay homage to the families that called it home for many years. The overall design comes from the tradition of families adding to their homes when they had a good year, hence the name. The Klenk’s wanted to give the home a modern look while keeping the historic aesthetic of the house. “The exterior color changes subtly to signify the different additions, some made during the restaurant buildout in 2019;” The Goodyear House website.

UDP’s role in this project was to assist in their goal of bringing this vision of The Goodyear House to life. Rezoning the 0.23 acres site was the first step in the process. Once the site was approved, our team worked on the construction documents to bring the vision to life. With the restaurant being in the midst of the arts and entertainment that NoDa is known for, outdoor seating and parking were necessary site improvements.
