City Gateway Subdivision Approved!

UDP is providing master planning, landscape architecture, and civil engineering services for a new mixed-use district located at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd and McDowell Street close to the southern gateway into Downtown Raleigh. Identified in the City of Raleigh’s Downtown Plan to be a future Innovation District, the proposed plan currently includes a mix of office, education, hospitality, and residential uses. The plan also calls for a large urban plaza and will include a new multi-use bike and pedestrian trail that will serve as the primary southern pedestrian entry into downtown Raleigh. UDP successfully led the project site through the City of Raleigh’s subdivision process to provide for public infrastructure improvements including utility extensions, a multi-use trail, and an extension of Kindley Street.
